Meet Our Team

Assaf Cohen   Co-Founder

With over a dozen years of FinTech experience spanning across card processing, treasury services, real-time, and cross-border payments, Assaf's background lends itself to building the next generation of compliance-focused banking solutions and infrastructure. Before founding Vice Banking, Assaf was the CEO of Pay.com where he built a global payments business acquiring licenses in the US, Europe and the United Kingdom. Previously he was the VP of Sales at Checkout.com and Payoneer, working on accounts such as Amazon, TripAdvisor, Adobe and General Electric. Assaf's knowledge in payments will help ensure that Vice Banking is always driving new products that add delight and value to merchants. Assaf holds a BS from Queens College with a minor in Marketing, along with a FinTech certificate from Harvard.

Michael Peirce   Co-Founder

Michael brings a decade of Financial Services and FinTech experience to Vice Banking. Prior to co-founding Vice Banking, Michael was an investor at Fin Capital – a $1B+ in AUM venture & growth equity firm focused exclusively on B2B Fintech – where he was responsible for sourcing investments, building relationships, maintaining board responsibilities and adding operating value across the portfolio of companies. Previously, Michael was an investment banker at Financial Technology Partners, a global FinTech focused investment bank, where he advised on sell-side, buy-side and capital formation engagements such as Mastercard’s acquisition of Finicity, Rocket’s acquisition of Truebill, Ladder’s $100M Series D fundraising, and more. Additionally, Michael has held roles at Buckingham Research Group as VP of Equity Research covering large-cap public FinTech, and began his career at Point72 Asset Management. Michael holds a BS from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business with a major in Finance, minor in Economics and a secondary concentration in Alternative Investments.

Samuel Crume   Co-Founder

Samuel comes to Vice Banking after spending the last 10 years working across the financial landscape. Prior to co-founding Vice Banking, Samuel worked for Caprock – an $11bn multifamily office which serves the investment and financial needs of families and family offices with large, complex balance sheets – where he acted as an outsourced CIO/CFO for clients of the firm, helped drive the development of new client relationships, managed complex balance sheets, legal structures, corporate treasury and portfolios as well as deployed and managed capital in cash securities, public markets, private equity, real estate and venture capital. Prior to joining Caprock, Samuel worked in the Synthetic Products Group at Goldman Sachs, where he helped test and launch the “Contract for Difference” product while also managing relationships with Hedge Funds and institutional investors for Goldman’s Equity Swap business. Additionally, Samuel began his career in Investment Banking at M2O Private Fund Advisors, focusing on raising institutional capital for lower-middle market private equity funds. Samuel holds a BS from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business with a major in Finance and a minor in History.
